Which Urn?
Size
The most commonly asked question we receive is what size urn do I need? The way this is worked out in general is 1 cubic inch of volume (space inside urn) for every pound of body weight. So for example if a 200 pound person will fit into a 200 cubic inch urn. However this rule is only approximate but in many instances people over this weight still fit into a 200 cubic inch urn. All our Adult cremation urns have a volume of at least 215 cubic inches so in nearly all cases they will be large enough for all the remains of an adult.
Keepsake Urns
Keepsake urns are very suitable for any situation. If the cremated remains are to be scattered or interred you can have a token amount placed in a keepsake urn that can be kept at home. They hold a small amount of remains so that multiple keepsake urns can be kept by various members of the family even though the majority are scattered. Keepsake urns are also a good choice in case you move from the area in which the main amount of cremated remains may have been scattered or interred, this allows you to keep a small amount close to you. Some families use a keepsake urn and put it in a flower pot and plant a flower such as a rose as a memorial and tribute to a loved one. Quite often families have scattered the cremated remains (ashes) and regretted not having anything tangible of their loved one, making a keepsake urn the perfect choice for an everlasting memorial.
Cremation Urns
Adult Cremation Urns are all hand made from solid brass. Each one is individually unique and named to represent their finish. Brass urns can be interred in cemeteries or gardens (please check restrictions from local cemetery authorities) The majority of people that purchase our Brass urns are for the more decorative reason and may wish to have them on display or feel that the design is personal to the remains of the person they hold.
Companion Urns
Companion urns are two individual adult urns that are arranged as a pair, which two loved ones remains can be placed and kept together.
Pet Urns
As animals are as unique as humans, often sharing the same emotional attachments it seems only right that they are treated in the same way. This is why we have a range of unique pet urns that are all hand made from solid brass and are beautifully finished, whether you want to display them or inter them in a garden or pet cemetery (please check on pet cemetery restrictions).
Caskets
All of our caskets are provided with a gold or silver effect inscription plate, we will contact you to discuss the inscription, which is included in the price of the Casket. Caskets are the most common container purchased for interring cremated remains and are accepted by the majority of all cemeteries and churchyards. Please note that if you wish to carry the cremated remains abroad then the remains must be placed into a zinc lined casket which is sealed with chemical metal. These can be provided upon request. If you do wish to have the remains interred you may wish to consider purchasing a keepsake urn if one day you move away from the place in which they were interred.
Biodegradable Urns
Although wooden caskets are biodegradable to a certain extent, these urns are specifically designed to biodegrade at an accelerated rate. They are also constructed of 100% biodegradable materials so as to have as little impact on the environment as possible.
Scattering Urns
These urns are a simple and cost effective container for placing cremated remains in for the purpose of scattering. Each urn is provided with advice on scattering ashes in the most dignified way. If you do wish to scatter the ashes as many people do, you may wish to consider purchasing a keepsake urn as we have had many families regretting scattering their loved ones as they have nothing tangible to hold onto. Also it is important to consider a keepsake in case one day you move away from the area in which the remains have scattered.
Garden Urns
Garden Urns are constructed from stone and come in a variety of styles such as birdbath, planter and sundials. They are a unique way in which to hold a person's cremated remains in the privacy of your own garden. They are also very discrete into their actual purpose
