The Advantages of Cremation

Should a deceased loved one be buried under the ground or should he be cremated? A big factor that affects the decision of the burial method to be used may rest on the financial capability of the household. If finances are limited, then cremation is the right investment choice.

This is because first, purchasing an urn where the ashes of the dead is stored is way less costly than buying a burial plot. Additionally, the plot per se is not the only expense. Loved ones have to buy the headstone, statues, and other fixed decorations that make up the grave. There are other costs involved in a standard funeral too. The family of the deceased will have to pay for the coffin, the embalming of the body, and various funeral services such as hearse rental, flower arrangements, and extravagant trappings.

A cremation, on the other hand, is a simpler process and thus, the expenditures mentioned above would be avoided. Because the body is burned, there is no need to pay for embalming services or to buy a casket. Aside from that, there are other advantages of cremation as well. In today's world where more and more people are recycling items and saving whatever space of land there is, cremation is a practical choice. For some, the feeling of a quick and clean disposal of the deceased body is comforting. Finally, the urn where the ashes of the deceased are put in can be placed inside the home. The family or relatives do not need to go to the cemetery to visit the dead. In a symbolic way, the person is still “living” with the household.
